Can you prevent surgery?

Many doctors look to treat the pain location. Dr. Kille looks to treat the cause of pain.

The problem

Hi, I’m Dr. Kille and today I’m discussing how I helped a patient prevent an unnecessary surgery last week.  A sixty year old woman came into my office on a Thursday with back pain.   I treated her for this issue and then asked her to come in next week for a follow up.  She explained that the following Tuesday she would have thumb surgery and could not come in for awhile.  When I hear the word surgery my ears always perk up. I asked what was going on and found out that six weeks ago she started having thumb pain.  Her doctor had referred her to an orthopedic surgeon who immediately wanted to do surgery to decompress the tendons at the thumbs.

Always try a less invasive form of therapy first

The investigation

I had the patient make a fist with her thumb inside and bend her wrist down.  This is a standard orthopedic test for stenosing tenosynovitis of De Quervain’s, or inflammation of the ligaments of the thumb.  The test caused her great pain.  I tested her forearm for tight ropy muscles of the thumb and found muscles that were way too tight for her build.  Many doctors look to treat the location of pain.  I look to treat the cause of pain.  I asked my patient to cancel the surgery and give me two weeks to relieve the pain because I knew I could help her with chiropractic techniques. Why I bought a TurboSonic Therapy Device

My first TurboSonic therapy session

Hi, I’m Dr. Kille and today I’m discussing TurboSonic whole-body vibration therapy.  I give my wife Barbara all the credit on this one.  How can just standing on a vibrating plate help at all?  She got me on a friend’s TurboSonic and that night I slept better than I had in months.  It took three more treatments and this chiropractor was calling and ordering my own TurboSonic!

If you can stand, you can exercise

I knew my patients would love how the TurboSonic vibrated and how their body felt when using it. This new technology accelerates the body’s natural response, increases cellular oxygen in-take, stimulates cellular fluid movement and assists the body to remove cellular waste.  So why doesn’t everyone want to use this unique device?  I’ll answer a question with a question, why doesn’t everyone stretch or work out daily.  There are many excuses but when you are ready to make a change in your life we have a unique tool for healing and cross training.

For more information on how standing on the TurboSonic for 10 minutes can change your life, click here.

Relief from the pain of Shingles

Stop living in pain from shingles

Hi, I’m Dr. JR Kille and today I’m discussing how our K-laser eliminates shingles pain. I have been having great success with relieving shingles pain with the K-laser and Seabuckthorn oil. Currently I am working with a local physical therapy group to administer laser to seniors. And the best part is that with a minimal exam fee most patients on Medicare can get the laser treatments at no cost to them.

The laser treatments are usually very comfortable, the patient will feel a warm sensation and normally within three treatments,  2-3 days apart, a noticeable decrease in pain will occur. If you have active shingles blisters they tend to dry up and heal. Some patients come to us with shingles pain that lasts long after the blisters are healed. This is called Post Shingles Syndrome. Those people can get great relief quickly with the K-laser. Here is an example of someone who was helped by our laser.

An incredible success story in Shingle pain relief

A 78 year old man came to us with severe pain in his arm and rib cage for over 10 years. Continue reading

October is National Chiropractic Health Month

Why I Became a Chiropractor

Hi, I’m Dr. JR Kille and today I’m discussing why I have a passion for helping people become healthier. When I was a young boy I had a paper route delivering almost 200 papers daily. On Sundays those papers could be large so I would load up my sack carrying up to 70lbs on my small shoulders biking around the neighborhood.   After weeks of having a painful back my dad took me to the local chiropractor and his first adjustment seemed like magic. Every bone in my back released and I felt better than I had in months.

Fast forward to near the end of my navy career and Dr. Froines, a gifted chiropractor and Palmer College graduate, also my go-to healer and friend. He knew I would retire from submarine service Continue reading

Shocking Vitamin D Deficiency Statistics

Widespread vitamin D deficiency problem in the United States

Hi, I’m Dr. JR Kille and today I’m discussing the widespread vitamin D deficiency problem in the United States.  Four years ago at age 44 I broke my collar bone.  That seems normal enough given the fall I took playing soft ball but I had fallen harder many times at a younger age.  What was the difference?  I was vitamin D3 deficient.  Here is some valuable information that my help you make some important choices in your diet and sunscreen use.

According to Mike Adams, Natural News Editor of www.diabeteslibrary.org:

  • 32% of doctors and med school students are vitamin D deficient.
  • 40% of the U.S. population is vitamin D deficient.
  • 42% of African American women of childbearing age are deficient in vitamin D.
  • 48% of young girls (9-11 years old) are vitamin D deficient.
  • Up to 60% of all hospital patients are vitamin D deficient.
  • 76% of pregnant mothers are severely vitamin D deficient, causing widespread vitamin D deficiencies in their unborn children, which predisposes them to type 1 diabetes, arthritis, multiple sclerosis and schizophrenia later in life. 81% of the children born to these mothers were deficient.
  • Up to 80% of nursing home patients are vitamin D deficient.

C. Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D says “Vitamin D3, Cholecalciferol, is the single most important boost for the immune function.”   I have been taking 50,000 IU of vitamin D3 per week (about 8,000 IU per day) for the past 3 years.  Sunlight on the hands and face for 15 minutes can give about 400 IU of vitamin D3, the FDA’s recommended daily dosage.  Someone in Florida wearing a bathing suit  with no sunscreen gets about 8,000 IU of vitamin D3 per hour.

Things that make you say, “REALLY”

If Vitamin D3, Cholecalciferol, helps prevent skin cancer and SPF8 or above sun screen stops Vitamin D3 production, then does sunscreen increase your chances of skin cancer? Continue reading
